Free Community Mantra & Meditation for Nonviolence

Community Mantra & Meditation for Nonviolence
Monday, August 12th
7:30-8:30 p.m.

In the wake of the mass shootings this past weekend and the continuing hate and violence in our country, let’s come together as yoga community to send more love and light into the world.

On Monday, August 12th, Nicole will be cancelling her usual Yin/Yoga Nidra class and will instead be offering a free community mantra and meditation practice. We’ll chant 108 repetitions of a mantra for peace and then practice Tonglen meditation — breathing in pain and suffering and breathing out love, compassion, and healing. After the mantra and guided meditation, participants are welcome to stay and continue with a meditation practice of their choice.

7:30 – 8:00 p.m. Mantra chant and Tonglen meditation
8:00 – 8:30 p.m. Stay and meditate as you choose and leave quietly whenever you need to go.

This event is FREE. Reserve your spot here.

While truly bringing an end to violence involves action off the mat as well, we wish to offer space for those who would like to come together on the mat to seek solace in each other and join voices and breath to cultivate love and healing.

Please join us.

Class Cancelled Due to Weather

Due to the extreme cold temps, we have cancelled all classes for tonight (1/29) and tomorrow (1/30).

As of right now, Yogatta Give Back for Thursday, January 31st is still going on as scheduled. However, we will post updates if that changes.

Thanks for understanding! We hope you’ll join us for another practice soon. Stay safe and warm out there!

Furnace Repairs at The Firehouse – Important Update

The firehouse furnace is not functioning properly, which makes for a very cold yoga studio. Repairs are scheduled to take place tomorrow (Wednesday, November 21st), so all classes will resume as of tomorrow evening.

For everyone’s comfort and safety, Molly is canceling this evening’s Bhakti Yin class.

We apologize for any inconvenience, and we look forward to returning to the mat tomorrow for Pre-Thanksgiving Gratitude Slow Flow!

Finding Your Practice – A Beginner’s Workshop

Led by Nicole McLaughlin-Lublin
Saturday, September 29th
10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Interested in developing a yoga practice but don’t know where to begin? This workshop is for you!

Join other brand new yogis in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere and learn a bit about yoga history & philosophy, the various styles of yoga most often encountered in U.S. studios, yoga terminology, breathing techniques, and of course the poses themselves. Handouts will be provided, you’ll have a chance to ask questions, and we’ll roll out our mats for a beginner-friendly practice. September is National Yoga Month, so what better time to take the first step on your own personal yoga journey!
Workshop is limited to 10 participants. Register here to secure your spot!

Additional Info:  Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move. Bring water and a yoga mat. (There are mats available for use at the studio, if you don’t have your own.) It’s recommended to practice yoga on either an empty stomach or after a light meal or snack. Avoid eating a heavy meal right before the workshop. Try to arrive 10-15 minutes early.

Yin & Yoga Nidra begins this coming Monday!

Join Nicole McLaughlin-Lublin on Monday evenings for a 75-minute class that includes a 45-50 minute Yin practice, followed by the practice of Yoga Nidra.

Sometimes called yogic sleep, Yoga Nidra involves total body relaxation paired with a deep meditative state of consciousness between waking and sleeping. Lying in Savasana (resting pose), the student simply follows the voice of the instructor, while meditation techniques such as intention setting, guided imagery, body scan, and counting breaths are used to move through this ancient practice. Yoga Nidra has been known to reduce stress, improve sleep, and leave the practitioner feeling restored and refreshed.

Mondays (beginning 9/17)
7:15 – 8:30 p.m.
All levels welcome
$12 drop-in
Register here or via the MindBody app.
