Community Mantra & Meditation for Nonviolence

In the wake of the mass shootings this past weekend and the continuing hate and violence in our country, let’s come together as yoga community to send more love and light into the world.
On Monday, August 12th, Nicole will be cancelling her usual Yin/Yoga Nidra class and will instead be offering a free community mantra and meditation practice. We’ll chant 108 repetitions of a mantra for peace and then practice Tonglen meditation — breathing in pain and suffering and breathing out love, compassion, and healing. After the mantra and guided meditation, participants are welcome to stay and continue with a meditation practice of their choice.
7:30 – 8:00 p.m. Mantra chant and Tonglen meditation
8:00 – 8:30 p.m. Stay and meditate as you choose and leave quietly whenever you need to go.

While truly bringing an end to violence involves action off the mat as well, we wish to offer space for those who would like to come together on the mat to seek solace in each other and join voices and breath to cultivate love and healing.
